Upon arrival at the Terelj Village bus stop, our nomadic guide will greet you. Together you will begin your adventure with a trek via Araam, a serene valley surrounded by rolling hills, to Zaan Gol, a scenic river nestled between towering mountains. The journey takes you through dense forests and open meadows, where you might spot wild deer and soaring eagles. Set up camp near the river and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the Mongolian wilderness.

Day 2: Hike to Örgödög Chuluu and Nuudelchin (22 km)

Start the day with a hike to Örgödög Chuluu, a massive rock formation with a fascinating history. This site is known for its spiritual significance and is often visited by local herders for blessings. After a short break, continue your journey to Nuudelchin, a nomadic settlement where you’ll get a glimpse into the daily life of Mongolia’s traditional herders.

Day 3: Climb to Asralt Khairkhan (8 km)

Today’s trek takes you to Asralt Khairkhan, the highest peak in the Khentii Mountains, standing at 2,800 meters above sea level. This majestic mountain rises above the taiga forests, with its summit forming an expansive alpine zone covered in rugged rock formations. Along the way, you will witness striking glacial features, including steep cirques and moraine ridges.

Asralt Khairkhan is also a significant hydrological source, with the Zaan River originating from its eastern slopes. A unique feature of this mountain is a summit lake that feeds two different river basins—its northern outflow joins the Nemekh River, a tributary of the Yest River, while its southern outflow contributes to the Zaan River. Such a phenomenon, where a single lake drains into separate watersheds, is a rare sight.

The ascent is challenging but rewarding, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Mongolia’s vast wilderness from the summit. Take time to appreciate the beauty and serenity of this remote and sacred peak before descending to your campsite for the night.

Day 4: Trek to Nart (14 km)

Leaving Asralt Khairkhan behind, you’ll hike towards Nart, a picturesque valley known for its lush greenery and diverse wildlife. This area is rich in birdlife, making it a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts. Spend the evening by a campfire, sharing stories under the vast Mongolian sky.

Day 5: Journey to Suv (17 km)

Continue your trek to Suv, a dramatic mountain pass with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. The terrain becomes more rugged, with rocky trails and steep ascents, adding a sense of adventure to your journey. Enjoy a well-earned rest at your campsite, surrounded by the stunning Mongolian landscape.

Day 6: Descend to Khaltzan Bürgedei (13 km)

Today’s journey takes you to Khaltzan Bürgedei, a scenic highland area known for its striking rock formations and panoramic views.
