Tavan Bogd Peak (Potanin Glacier) is part of a mountain massif in western Mongolia. Its highest peak, the snow capped Khüiten mountain is 4374 m, covers an area of 630,000 hectares and is home to three large freshwater lakes, 34 glaciers, and several waterfalls.
Generally, western Mongolia is fantastic for the more avid trekkers, explorers, etc., though it’s better to explore this region with GER to GER or with accredited tour operators for health and safety reasons.
