Mongolia’s Eagle Festival in October 2020
The Eagle Festival on October3-4th 2020: Some 100 eagle trainers from 10 soums (villages) from the surrounding Province are expected to participate in the annual Eagle Festival that aims to maintain this unique aspect of Mongolia’s heritage by showing off the trainers and their eagles’ skills. During the Eagle Festival various contests including the best dressed eagle trainer with decorated horse, the calling of an eagle from distance, the catching of stuffed dead animals, the live prey hunt and other traditional games of the Kazakh people such as Kokpar – goatskin tug of war on horseback.
