TRAVEL NOTICE – CLIENT SUITABILITY
At GER to GER, we take pride in offering authentic, community-based travel experiences designed for responsible, open-minded, and adaptable explorers. Our “Live Like a Local” Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures are not typical tourist experiences—they require a shift in expectations toward immersing in the realities of nomadic life, geography, and culture.
If you thrive on self-guided learning, cultural immersion, flexibility, and adapting to the natural flow of travel, then our Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures are an incredible opportunity to experience Mongolia’s nomadic way of life firsthand.
Is This the Right Experience for You?
GER to GER’s Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures may not be suitable for travelers who:
- Require constant attention and structured guidance
- Have high-maintenance expectations for service and comfort
- Dislike flexibility or unexpected itinerary changes

If any of the above apply to you, we strongly recommend choosing our packaged tours instead, as they offer a more structured and comfortable travel experience.
Choosing the Right Experience for You
- Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures – Designed for those who seek cultural immersion, flexibility, and an explorer’s mindset. You’ll stay with nomadic families, experience their daily life, and travel in a way that requires adaptability.
- Packaged Tours – Ideal for those who prefer a more structured, all-inclusive experience with guides, drivers, accommodations, entertainment, and a comfortable itinerary while still exploring Mongolia’s vast landscapes.
If you’re ready for a once-in-a-lifetime journey, embrace the great outdoors, Mongolia’s breathtaking landscapes, and the rich traditions of our nomadic families!
We look forward to welcoming you to an authentic, enriching travel experience in Mongolia.

Ethical Nomadic Adventures with Nomadic Families – Terms, Conditions, and Important Notes
At GER to GER, we are dedicated to providing authentic, ethical, and community-centered travel experiences that foster mutual respect, cultural immersion, and responsible tourism. Our Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures are not traditional tours—they are cultural exchange journeys where travelers live alongside real nomadic families, experiencing their daily lives, traditions, and challenges in an unfiltered and natural setting.
To ensure a positive and meaningful experience for both travelers and host communities, please carefully review the following terms, expectations, and ethical guidelines before booking.
Understanding the Two Types of Experiences We Offer
1. Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures (Ethical Nomadic Experiences)
- Community-based tourism experiences that are 100% designed and managed by nomadic families.
- No rigid itineraries—experiences naturally evolve based on weather, nomadic routines, and real-life conditions.
- Reality-based travel—an opportunity to learn, adapt, and engage with nomadic life in its authentic form.
- Best suited for open-minded, flexible travelers who appreciate self-guided learning and cultural immersion.
2. Packaged Tours (Structured Expeditions)
- All-inclusive trips with certified guides, drivers, hotels, entertainment, and structured itineraries.
- Ideal for those seeking comfort and organization while still exploring Mongolia’s landscapes and culture.
- Provides a balance between adventure and modern conveniences for a more traditional travel experience.
If you are seeking a more structured and comfortable trip, we recommend choosing one of our Packaged Tours. If you embrace the unpredictable and wish to immerse yourself in Mongolia’s nomadic culture, then our Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures are an excellent choice.
Responsible Travel Notes
- Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures Are Reality-Based – These journeys are not pre-arranged tourist attractions—they are living, breathing cultural experiences where external factors such as weather, livestock movements, seasonal changes, and local traditions naturally influence day-to-day activities.
- Respect and Adaptation Are Essential – Travelers must approach these experiences with cultural sensitivity, patience, and flexibility. Nomadic families are hosts, not service providers, and they share their lifestyles with guests on their own terms.
- Not an Amusement Park or Luxury Experience – This is an educational and immersive adventure, not a staged performance or a high-end resort stay. Travelers are expected to respect local ways of life and adapt to the realities of nomadic existence.
- Supporting Mongolia’s Social & Economic Development – GER to GER has contributed over $1 million USD toward Mongolia’s rural communities through ethical tourism initiatives. Up to 80% of our revenues go directly to nomadic families, providing them with sustainable income and economic opportunities.
- Guides and Logistics – Nomadic guides will travel using horses, ox-carts, motorcycles, or vehicles as needed for safety and efficiency. Due to terrain and environmental conditions, guides do not walk long distances unless necessary.
The Role of Travelers – Your Responsibility
GER to GER prepares travelers to become Ethnographic Explorers, equipping them with cultural awareness training to enhance their experiences. However, the quality of your journey is ultimately your responsibility.
- You are responsible for your own learning, interactions, and experience quality—just as if you were a humanitarian worker or independent researcher.
- Expectations should align with cultural realities—if you require a higher level of service, we strongly recommend choosing a Packaged Tour.
- Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures should not be treated as structured vacations—they are about adaptation, understanding, and meaningful cross-cultural exchange.
Expectations, Contracts, and Ethics
By voluntarily signing GER to GER’s Assumption of Risk Contract, you legally agree to the terms, conditions, and policies outlined both online and offline.
Important Policies:
- GER to GER’s online Terms and Conditions are subject to updates in accordance with ethical tourism standards and the health/safety of all parties involved.
- Only GER to GER’s founders (Ms. Yalalt and Mr. Fromer) have the authority to clarify policies, contracts, and operational methods.
- All itineraries are designed as flexible guidelines, not rigid schedules. Modifications may occur due to weather, cultural events, nomadic migrations, or other external factors.
- Unethical behavior, defamation, or misrepresentation of GER to GER or nomadic families in the context of structured tourism expectations is considered a breach of contract.
- Transportation for Budget Trips (experiences with Nomadic families are considered to be “Budget Trips”) is typically based on public buses or rural vehicles—GER to GER does not profit from transportation services and assumes no liability for third-party transport logistics.
Final Note: Choosing the Right Experience for You
We encourage all travelers to carefully assess their expectations and travel preferences before booking.
- If you are looking for a structured itinerary with modern conveniences, a Packaged Tour is your best option.
- If you seek cultural immersion, flexibility, and adventure, Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures provide a genuine, reality-based experience with Mongolia’s nomadic families.
We appreciate your understanding, respect, and willingness to engage in responsible travel. Thank you for supporting community-based tourism and Mongolia’s nomadic way of life!

Ensuring Traveler Suitability & Comprehensive Pre-Trip Preparation
At GER to GER, we are committed to ensuring that every traveler is well-prepared, informed, and aligned with the principles of responsible, ethical, and community-based travel. To facilitate a smooth and meaningful experience, all travelers must thoroughly review and acknowledge the following 13 key verifications before booking a Nomadic Lifestyle Adventure.
1. Understanding GER to GER’s Mission & Operations
Travelers must review “What is GER to GER?” and “How does GER to GER operate?” on our website to understand our humanitarian-driven approach to tourism.
2. Knowing the Difference: Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures vs. Packaged Tours
It is essential to understand that Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures are immersive, reality-based cultural experiences, whereas Packaged Tours offer structured itineraries, guides, and comfort-based services.
3. Reviewing Terms & Conditions for Community-Based Trips
Travelers must read and acknowledge the Terms & Conditions governing Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures to understand their responsibilities, trip flexibility, and the role of nomadic families.
4. Direct Correspondence with GER to GER Staff
Travelers should communicate with GER to GER via email for Q&A, booking requests, confirmations, and trip details.
5. Online Learning Requirement (Office-Based Training Discontinued)
Since 2022, all pre-trip training has been moved online to ensure a safe, respectful, and harassment-free work environment for GER to GER staff.
This change was necessary after a small group of individuals engaged in inappropriate behavior (verbal harassment, online defamation, and even physical aggression) towards our staff. These incidents were documented by local authorities.
To maintain professionalism and safety, GER to GER no longer provides in-office training, but travelers receive mandatory online pre-trip preparation materials to ensure they are ready for their adventure.
6. Awareness of External Influences on the Journey
Travelers are informed that weather, culture, and nomadic lifestyle factors may require itinerary changes, and nomadic families have the right to adjust plans as needed.
7. Understanding Cultural vs. Customer Service
Unlike standard tours, Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures operate on the principles of cultural exchange, not commercialized tourism services.
Travelers should approach the experience with a humanitarian mindset, embracing cultural differences rather than expecting Western-style customer service.
8. Reviewing the Terms & Conditions Again
Before departure, travelers will revisit the Terms & Conditions to ensure full awareness of trip expectations, responsibilities, and logistics.
9. Reviewing GER to GER’s Disclaimer
Travelers will review and acknowledge GER to GER’s disclaimer, which outlines potential risks, itinerary flexibility, and cultural considerations.
10. Opportunity to Adjust or Cancel Bookings
Travelers have the chance to make modifications or reconsider their trip before departure if they feel unprepared for the experience.
11. Signing the Assumption of Risk Contract
Before departure, all travelers must carefully review and sign the Assumption of Risk Contract, which covers weather conditions, cultural adaptability, 3rd-party suppliers, and safety considerations.
12. Submitting the Assumption of Risk Contract Upon Arrival
Travelers will receive the Assumption of Risk Contract via email before arrival.
The signed contract must be printed, signed, and submitted upon making the final trip payment in Mongolia.
13. Staying Connected During the Journey
Travelers are encouraged to stay in contact with GER to GER staff before and during their Nomadic Lifestyle Adventure.
While traveling, communication is possible via nomadic families’ mobile phones or by purchasing an affordable local SIM card in Mongolia.
Final Note
At GER to GER, we deeply value respectful, responsible, and well-prepared travelers who understand the importance of cultural sensitivity and ethical travel. We look forward to providing you with an authentic and enriching experience that fosters genuine connections with Mongolia’s nomadic families.
If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us before your journey.
GER to GER’s Policy on Ethical Conduct & Our Right to Deny Services
At GER to GER, we take pride in hosting thousands of responsible, respectful travelers from around the world. However, over the years, we have encountered a small number of individuals who engage in unethical behavior, such as spreading misinformation, harassment, and public defamation through online platforms.
To ensure a safe, fair, and respectful environment for both our team and future travelers, we have established a Policy on Ethical Conduct, which includes our right to deny service to individuals who engage in malicious behavior, harassment, or unethical actions.
Our Right to Deny Services & Cancel Trips
We reserve the right to immediately deny services and cancel trips for individuals who:
- Engage in harassment, verbal abuse, or physical aggression toward GER to GER staff, nomadic families, or other travelers.
- Participate in scams, fraud, gaslighting, or other deceptive behaviors.
- Publicly defame our organization by spreading false information or engaging in smear campaigns through TripAdvisor, social media, blogs, or other platforms.
If a trip is canceled due to violations of our ethical policy, GER to GER will:
- Provide a refund for unused services, after deducting the 30% non-refundable deposit and partner payments (such as hotel fees, driver fees, or other non-refundable costs).
- Issue refunds only after the scheduled trip is completed, as our team will be engaged with handling scheduled payments and trip logistics.
- Process refunds via bank transfer, with any associated bank fees deducted from the refund amount. If the refund amount is lower than the bank’s transaction fees, we will offer alternative options such as online gift cards.
No In-Person Meetings for Unethical Behavior
GER to GER will not meet with individuals engaging in abusive behavior while we are conducting business operations, training, or working with clients. All official communication must be pre-approved and scheduled.
Why We Take This Policy Seriously
Online defamation and the spread of false or misleading reviews are serious issues that affect businesses worldwide. Independent studies and news reports have highlighted the prevalence of fake reviews and the manipulation of review platforms such as TripAdvisor.
- 2019-2020: Over 1 million fake reviews identified on TripAdvisor.
- 2018-2019: Over 1.5 million fake reviews identified on TripAdvisor.

GER to GER’s Commitment to Ethical Travel & Safety Policy
At GER to GER, we are dedicated to fostering safe, ethical, and responsible travel experiences that benefit both travelers and local communities. To uphold integrity, fairness, and safety, we reserve the right to deny services to individuals engaging in unethical or fraudulent behavior.
Our Right to Refuse Service for Ethical & Safety Reasons
To ensure the well-being of all involved, GER to GER reserves the right to deny services for:
- Fraudulent activity – Including travel insurance fraud, false claims for free trips, or deceptive TripAdvisor/social media narratives meant to back fraudulent insurance claims.
- Unethical behavior – Actions that involve extortion, deception, or manipulation that could harm GER to GER, other travelers, local communities, or partners.
- Reckless or harmful conduct – Behaviors that put oneself, others, local hosts, livestock, or wildlife at risk of injury or distress.
Our commitment to ethical tourism ensures that all travelers can experience Mongolia’s nomadic culture in a safe, respectful, and positive manner.
Immediate Response to Malicious Activities
If a traveler is found engaging in fraudulent or harmful behavior, including:
- Intentionally fabricating false injury claims for TripAdvisor/social media manipulation.
- Recklessly endangering oneself or others to create a misleading legal narrative.
- Deliberately falsifying the travel experience to publicly misrepresent GER to GER.
GER to GER will:
- Immediately terminate the trip to prevent further misconduct.
- Release necessary documentation to relevant authorities or legal entities to protect against fraudulent claims, defamation, or financial/legal liability.
- Cooperate with any required legal or insurance investigations to ensure transparency.
This policy is not only to protect GER to GER but also to uphold ethical travel practices, ensuring that legitimate travelers, local communities, and responsible tourism partners are not negatively affected by deceptive actions.
Our Commitment to Safe, Ethical, and Responsible Travel
GER to GER takes traveler safety, ethical tourism, and local well-being seriously. We believe in fostering mutual respect, fairness, and authenticity within our experiences.
We appreciate the trust of responsible travelers who genuinely seek cultural immersion, adventure, and ethical exploration. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can ensure a positive and meaningful travel experience.
Thank you for supporting ethical, responsible, and sustainable tourism.
GER to GER’s Commitment to Quality & Ethical Community Partnerships
At GER to GER Mongolia, we are deeply committed to supporting rural communities and nomadic families through responsible, ethical, and sustainable tourism practices. Since September 2018, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to work exclusively with GER to GER-trained communities to ensure quality, safety, and accountability for all involved.
Why This Decision Was Made
While we have always sought to support as many rural communities as possible, we have encountered challenges related to quality standards, liability, and unethical travel practices. As a result:
- We can no longer provide in-kind support to communities that have received training from other organizations (such as external NGOs) unless they successfully complete GER to GER’s intensive training programs and meet our quality and ethical standards.
- This ensures that all participating communities are fully equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and responsible tourism practices to provide safe and meaningful experiences for travelers.
Commitment to Ethical Tourism & Protecting Communities
Unfortunately, unethical travel scams have negatively impacted both travelers and host communities, creating financial and legal risks for everyone involved. Our decision is aimed at protecting rural communities, nomadic families, and travelers from the consequences of:
- Unregulated tourism practices that do not meet GER to GER’s quality and ethical standards.
- Liability risks that arise from working with communities not trained under GER to GER’s responsible tourism framework.
- Travel scams that exploit rural communities, harming both their economic sustainability and reputation.
We are saddened that we must take this step, but our priority remains the well-being and long-term sustainability of the communities we directly train and support.
Future Opportunities for Community Participation
Rural communities or nomadic families that wish to participate in GER to GER’s network are welcome to apply for our training. We believe that proper training, ethical tourism management, and long-term sustainability are key to ensuring fair opportunities for all.
We appreciate the understanding and continued support of our travelers, partners, and host communities as we uphold our commitment to ethical, responsible, and sustainable tourism.
For any inquiries regarding GER to GER’s community training programs, please feel free to contact us directly.
Thank you for supporting ethical tourism and responsible travel in Mongolia.

Changes to Travel Arrangements

- GER to GER reserves the right to modify travel plans when necessary due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., weather, road conditions, local regulations, emergencies).
Cancellation Policy
- If you wish to cancel your booking, you must inform us in writing.
- If significant changes occur to your itinerary before departure, you may have the right to cancel your trip in accordance with our Cancellation Terms and Conditions.
- Any refunds will be processed according to our Terms and Conditions, excluding the non-refundable deposit.
Client Cancellation Charges:
- 7 days prior to departure – 30% of the total trip fare (deposit amount) is non-refundable.
- 1 day prior to departure or cancellations during a trip – No refund will be given.
However, depending on the nature of the cancellation, GER to GER may investigate the situation and, at its own discretion, offer a partial refund for unused services. If a refund is granted, GER to GER will process the transfer to the client’s account after completing the necessary paperwork.
Refund Guidelines & Investigation Process
- Once your trip has begun, GER to GER cannot provide refunds for unused services, including:
- Homestays
- Meals
- Sightseeing
- Trekking days
- Other trip-related costs
- Refunds will not be issued for any unused trip arrangements for any reason once services have commenced.
If a traveler requests a refund based on a complaint, the following process applies:
- The traveler must submit an official written complaint to the Manager or Director.
- A formal appointment will be scheduled for a later date—GER to GER does not conduct immediate meetings at the time of complaint submission to allow for an initial investigation.
- GER to GER will conduct a thorough review of all facts, including verifying details with rural service providers and relevant stakeholders.
- Refunds will only be issued in accordance with internal policies and economic formulas, ensuring a fair and transparent decision-making process.
GER to GER does not issue post-trip refunds based solely on one party’s statement or hearsay (i.e., “he said/she said”). All refund requests are subject to a proper investigation in accordance with anti-fraud and anti-defamation policies.
Commitment to Fairness & Transparency
We understand that travel plans may sometimes need adjustments, and we are committed to handling modifications, cancellations, and refunds with fairness and professionalism.
If you have any questions regarding our policies, please feel free to contact us directly so we can assist you.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain ethical, responsible, and sustainable tourism practices.
GER to GER’s Transparency & Ethical Travel Policy
At GER to GER, we are committed to transparency, ethical tourism, and protecting both our travelers and host communities. With over two decades of experience, we have encountered various challenges, including unethical practices, misinformation, and fraudulent activities aimed at discrediting responsible tourism initiatives.
To safeguard travelers, nomadic families, and our team, we have established this Transparency Protection Policy. This ensures that all parties understand their rights, responsibilities, and the core values that define GER to GER’s commitment to ethical, community-based tourism.
We appreciate genuine, responsible travelers who embrace cultural exchange with respect and integrity. However, to maintain the well-being of all involved, we kindly ask those engaging in unethical behaviors, scams, or organized smear campaigns to seek alternative travel arrangements.
Key Terms, Conditions & Responsible Travel Notes

Many rural communities are still in the early stages of learning international tourism standards. It may take several decades (or generations) before local tourism services align with global expectations.

5. Transportation Services & Liability
For most Nomadic Lifestyle Adventures, transportation relies on public bus systems and rural drivers, who are independent third-party service providers and not GER to GER employees.

6. Transportation Assistance Is an In-Kind Service
GER to GER does not earn revenue from transportation referrals. This service is provided to assist travelers with complex ticketing processes, but GER to GER assumes no liability for transportation issues.

9. Handling Legal & Criminal Matters
Any criminal activities (including theft, fraud, or defamation) involving travelers, nomads, drivers, or any third party will be reported to legal authorities.
GER to GER operates in accordance with Mongolian laws and does not engage in hearsay-based disputes. Any legitimate legal cases will be handled within the legal jurisdiction of Mongolia.
10. International Legal & Law Enforcement Cooperation (Last Measure Only)
At GER to GER, we take pride in our ability to hold open discussions with our clients in a spirit of mutual respect, fairness, and kindness.
In the rare case of intentional harm, extortion, or fraudulent activities, GER to GER reserves the right to report such cases to international law enforcement agencies (USA, EU, or other relevant jurisdictions) as a last measure.
